Magic has Arrived in Tharendell

Spellcasters can now enter battle, select spells, choose targets, and unleash magic directly during combat encounters. The system is still growing, but the foundations are finally alive and working inside the world.

This update also brings major improvements to the battle experience itself:
⚔️ Improved combat flow
🪄 Spell targeting during battle
📜 Better combat round handling
🔥 Faster and cleaner backend execution
🎯 Improved battlefield responsiveness
📖 Continued narration integration

One of the coolest moments during development has been watching the battlefield update live as combat unfolds. Health bars shift, enemies collapse, spells fire off, and the encounter begins to feel less like a web form and more like an actual RPG battle.

This update also sparked a larger redesign discussion for the future of combat in Tharendell.

The original combat page started as a simple fight launcher, but the combat engine has evolved far beyond that. Because of this, future updates will likely separate:

  • party preparation
  • battlefield combat
  • narration experience

into their own dedicated flows to create a much more immersive adventure experience.

The goal has always been to make Tharendell feel like an old-school fantasy world brought to life through modern systems and AI-driven storytelling — and with spellcasting finally entering the battlefield, that vision is starting to feel very real.

More magic, more monsters, and more chaos ahead.
