The Gates Open: The Player Area Awakens

For nearly four weeks, the halls of Tharendell have echoed late into the night—with the clatter of runes, the binding of tokens, and more than a little arcane struggle against forces known only as PHP.

Tonight, the gates finally opened.

The Player Area of Tharendell now stands revealed.

Adventurers may now step forward, register their mark, and bring forth a hero of their own design—or, for those who trust fate, summon a character born of chance. These are no hollow shells. Each soul forged here is bound by the ancient laws of Basic Fantasy. A dwarf will not tread the path of forbidden magic. A warrior’s strength must fall within mortal limits. The world knows what you are allowed to be—and what you are not.

Choose your race, and only the classes that race may walk will answer the call.
Roll your stats, and the laws of the realm will judge them.
Every character is real. Every rule enforced.

With this fire lit, the road ahead opens swiftly.

The next great trial is already being prepared: The One-Shot.

A single encounter.
One hero.
One monster.
Steel against claw.
Spell against scale.

You may choose your foe… or let fate decide. The battle will rage until only one stands victorious. Fear not—though this is a fight to the death, no hero shall be lost forever. This crucible exists to temper the battle engine itself, to ensure every strike, miss, and wound obeys the laws etched into the world.

Beyond that horizon waits DM42—a vast mind yet to awaken. When it does, it will serve as Game Master, giving voice and story to battles already decided by unyielding rules.

Much remains to be done. Many nights still lie ahead. With a new season of study approaching, time must be shared between worlds—but this labor is no burden. Tharendell is becoming something rare.

The flames of Forge42Engine smolder, waiting to be stoked.
The lights of 42SystemStudios burn bright.
And a fantasy world unlike any other is beginning to breathe.
