The Forge Awakens Again

Over the last five weeks, development on Forge42Engine has been quieter than usual. Summer graduate courses have demanded nearly every free evening, and between work and school there simply haven’t been enough hours in the day.

The good news is that the finish line is finally here. I have only two final exams remaining, and by the end of this week the summer semester will officially be behind me.

Although active development slowed, the engine itself did not stand completely still. One of the largest milestones completed during this period was the addition of Area of Effect support to the spell system. That work laid the foundation for much richer spell mechanics and moves Forge42Engine one step closer to supporting the full range of classic fantasy spellcasting.

Beginning next week, development resumes in earnest.

The roadmap includes continued work on the battle engine, expanding the Flare-inspired spell system, improving monster behavior, refining combat narration, and continuing to build the systems that will eventually bring the world of Tharendell to life.

Thank you to everyone who has continued following the project while life temporarily shifted toward textbooks, research papers, and graduate exams.

The forge fires are about to burn bright again.

See you next week.
