The world of Tharendell just took a big step forward.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve deployed several major updates that bring combat, storytelling, and competition together in exciting new ways.

⚔️ Enter the Single Fight

Our Single Fight system is now live as part of the alpha testing phase of the Tharendell battle engine.

Players can take a character into battle and experience a full encounter from start to finish. After the dust settles, the story continues…

🎵 Alistair the Bard Takes the Stage

Every battle is now narrated by Alistair the Bard, who recounts the fight round by round with vivid detail. Every strike, every miss, every turning point is woven into a living tale.

This narration system is a cornerstone of Tharendell’s future—and it’s available right now.

🏆 A Leaderboard for the Brave

I’ve also introduced a Character Leaderboard, letting you see how your heroes (and not-so-heroes) compare.

Wins, losses, monsters defeated—it’s all there. Losses are purely visual, so don’t fear experimentation. Characters are always restored after battle.

As an alpha tester, your battles earn experience, and those points will matter. Leveling is coming.

🧠 Smarter Character Creation

One of the most-requested improvements from our testers has already landed. When creating a custom character, once a stat roll is used, it can no longer be assigned again. No more accidental duplicates—just clean, intentional builds.

🔮 What Lies Ahead

The battle engine continues to evolve. Next on the horizon:

  • Battles with multiple player characters
  • Ranged combat
  • And the most ambitious system yet: magic spells

The groundwork is laid—it’s now about making sure magic feels right, balanced, and true to the world.
